10 Tips to Prevent Weight Gain of Antidepressants?

Weight gain as a side effect of antidepressants is very common and miserable. Because the patient is gaining weight, he can even discontinue medication. No one has a good explanation as to how these drugs are eaten. Nevertheless, people report that they do not feel satisfied after eating and are continuously thirsty for carbohydrates. Sometimes they may be selfish.

This study, conducted at MIT, and at the University of Harvard's Hospital Weight Control Center, helped to develop an effective way to prevent or reverse this weight gain. We also know that serotonin in the brain that regulates mood regulates appetite. Antidepressants only affect the mood function of serotonin and may interfere with the appetite function in some way. Based on our research, the solution to this is to increase the ability of serotonin to turn off the need to eat

1. Weigh and report to the doctor before beginning dosing.

Most psychiatrists do not have a balance in their office. If you confirm that your weight is recorded and claim that you have gained weight back for your follow-up visit, no conflict will occur.

2. Learn to teach the difference between hunger and appetite.
Hunger is when you have to eat immediately and any food will satisfy you. Appetite is when you feel like eating, but there is no urgency of hunger. Your medication will increase your appetite and leave you feeling like you want to eat more, but you will never really be hungry. A good test of the difference between hunger and appetite is whether you are willing to eat something you don't really like that much. If the answer is yes then you are hungry. If the answer is no, it is your appetite. My test food is a protein bar. When I get really hungry, I blur it. Just because I have an appetite, I do not even eat food.

3. Does the stomach produce excessive acid upon dosing?
Some medicines do this, and their emotions are like hunger. A simple test is to use Tums or other over-the-counter preparations to lower the acidity of the stomach. When hunger disappears, it turns out to be a side effect of the medicine on your stomach. Talk to your doctor about this long-term treatment.

4. Increase serotonin.
This will quickly turn off your appetite, stop your craving and leave you with a sense of satisfaction. It is similar to extinguishing your thirst after you have had enough water.

5. Serotonin is produced after eating carbohydrates other than fructose (fructose) sugar.
When starch and sweet foods are digested, the brain receives tryptophan, an amino acid used by the brain to make serotonin. Eat about 30 grams of sweet or starchy food like breakfast cereals, pretzels, popcorn, rice or soy crackers, graham crackers or twisler.

6. Eat carbohydrates hungry or at least 2 hours after eating protein.
Protein foods such as turkey, chicken, beef, fish, cheese, yogurt and eggs block the ability of tryptophan to enter the brain. If you combine protein foods and carbohydrates like turkey sandwiches, serotonin is not produced.

7. Choose carbohydrates that contain little fat.
Fat slows down digestion and adds unwanted calories. Chocolate, cookies, ice cream, cakes, pie crusts, french fries, and chips are not snacks of serotonin production.

8. If your medicine makes a snack in the evening, do not eat protein at dinner.
By eating only starchy carbohydrates such as pasta and large baked potatoes with the vegetables, the brain makes enough serotonin to keep you satisfied until bedtime.

9. Under no circumstances should high protein, low carbohydrate diet.
This is a diet for disasters so that serotonin is not produced, and may only increase the urge to eat.

10. Practice. The increase in serotonin brought about by producing serotonin increases your energy.
Use this to increase your physical activity every few minutes. The combination of feeling the urge to eat and exercise no longer makes you lose weight easily or prevents you from getting it at all.
